While in my teens, God planted the seed of adoption deep into my heart. It was twenty some odd years later that my husband and I were able to adopt a child. We brought our precious son home from Guatemala in March of 2006. What a blessing he is to all who know him! He can light up a room with his brilliant, dimpled smile! A year and a half later, we feel like God has called us to start this journey again. I prayed that God would give me an idea of how we could raise the money for another adoption. I love any and all kinds of crafts, sewing, jewelry making…I think I have tried it all. I knew there had to be something that I could make and sell that would help with the adoption expenses. Candles!!! I would consider myself a candle connoisseur…I just love candles! I have done much research and I have tried and tested waxes, fragrances, wicks and containers. Finally, I have about 20 scents and about 6 containers that I am currently selling. I asked God to give me a name that would represent the passion of this endeavor. He answered so quietly and gently… Lights For Love. These lights are for the love we hope to share with another precious orphan.

We are commanded in James 1:27b…”to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” I know that not everyone is able to adopt, but I truly believe that everyone can help in one capacity or another. There are organizations, churches and charities that sponsor orphans both here in the U.S. and abroad. You can give money, time, clothing, food, school supplies and most importantly prayer to the millions of orphans in this world. My prayer is that you find a way that you can help!

God Bless.
